Member code of conduct

Earning the C.C.B.P. credential is a commitment to run your cleaning business professionally and honestly. These are the standards we ask every holder to uphold.

1. Honesty and integrity

Quote fairly, bill accurately, and never charge for work you did not do. Be transparent about what is included in a job, what costs extra, and how cancellations and refunds are handled. Stand behind your work.

2. Care for client property

Treat every client's home or premises with respect. Use appropriate products and methods, take care to avoid damage, and report any accidental breakage promptly and honestly. Keep anything you are entrusted with, including keys and access codes, secure.

3. Confidentiality

Respect client privacy. Do not share what you see inside a client's home or business, and keep client details and access information private and secure.

4. Safe and compliant operation

Operate within the law in your area. Maintain the registrations, insurance, and permits your work requires, follow safe handling and labeling for cleaning chemicals, and protect the health and safety of yourself, your team, and the people around you.

5. Honest representation of the credential

Present the C.C.B.P. credential accurately, as recognition of completed training. Do not describe it as a government license, and do not promise results you cannot guarantee.

6. Fair treatment of any team

If you employ or subcontract cleaners, treat them fairly, pay them properly and on time, and provide the training and equipment they need to do the job safely and well.

7. Accountability

Put things right when they go wrong. Respond to reasonable client concerns in good faith, and conduct yourself in a way that reflects well on the wider profession.
